MUZE'UM L LIGHT AND LONGITUDE
INDEPENDENT ART CENTER ON THE ZILVERBERG - ROESELARE SITE
SPECIAL PLACE TO CREATE IN-SITU FACILITIES
compared to a normal gallery with show of works by one artist, the muze'um L is a unique place to create in-situ installations.
HOW IS A "IN SITU" FACILITY FACING A NORMAL EXHIBITION
In situ "means that the environment (the building, the landscape, the local nature, the light in the muze'umL - all together) plays a role in the" creation "of the work to be exhibited // it is not a normal arrangement of work, but it is a question of creating a global work, which is inspired by the environment //
YOU WISH TO MAKE AN INSTALLATION AT MUZE'UML ?
all past exhibitions were the result of a project submitted by one or more artists // so, musicians, artists, photographers . . . you can always present a project to the muze'umL // however the project must have a link with the environment and/or the building // the muse in the muze'umL is indicative of inspiration and not of a classic exhibition in a gallery // your proposal for an installation can be done on a simple request, along with some pictures of earlier work. (m firstname.lastname@example.org) // we will try to implement your plan as soon as possible.
WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN AN "IN SITU" INSTALLATION AND A NORMAL ONE
"in situ" means that the environment (building, landscape, local nature, light in the muze'umL - all together) plays a role in the "creation" of the work to be exhibited. it is not a normal installation but a global work inspired by the environment. the work can also consist of a set of works that interacts with one another and forms together a unity // the viewer experiences a unity (environment, interior space - and exterior, light, etc., and the work itself)
ONCE YOU HAVE THE APPROVAL OF THE SELECTION TEAM, YOU CAN MAKE YOUR INSTALLATION YOUR WAY
the patronage of the owners of the muze'umL was limited to the construction of the building and the site as well as the maintenance // the intervention of the artists (or galleries or museums) will be done under their own responsibility and authority // in collaboration with the muze'umL one can think about the final presentation // for the finances we can possibly seek jointly a sponsor.
there are four installations a year, connected to the four seasons and starting around 21 march, 21 june, 21 september and 21 december
it is up to you to choose a private opening for yourself or a public opening. in the latter case, the muze'umL offers a drink on the first day of the in(sunday from 15 to 17 h) // invitations are normally designed by graphic designers of the muze'umL // all advertising is done by e-mail and appropriate websites // muze'umL is connected to the database of belgian culture www.cultuurdatabank.be
the exhibitors give their cv, explanations and photos which will be briefly presented // books and other documents can of course be deposited //
although the sale is not the original objective, public sale is of course allowed // from the public price including vat, at least 25% is reserved for the muze'umL
